"It's All About The........"

If you have the privilege of spending time around some teen-agers then you know about the hit song "It's All About The Bass", by Meghan Trainor.  I am blessed to have one teen-age granddaughter, 2 teenage nieces and 1 young adult niece and it is because of them I know about the song "It's All About The Bass".  It is a song that has a catchy tune and beat so once you get it in your head it is hard to get it out.  I confess that I have this song in my head a lot! It isn't because I am thinking about the song "It's All About The Bass" but because here at Soaring Wings Ministries we have a saying....."It's all about the relationships".  

Relationships are so very important in life and for life.  Without relationships we wilt, we flounder and we miss out on the very best that God has intended for us.  When God created the world and created Adam, God knew that it was not good for Adam to be alone.  Adam had everything newly created at his fingertips and was living in a peaceful world without sin and yet...."The Lord God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone" (Genesis 2:18).  So God created Eve to be Adam's companion and helper through-out life.  

In Mark 6:7 we read that when Jesus sent out the twelve disciples he sent them out two by two.  I imagine they could have quickly covered more ground had the twelve gone out individually but I am sure they were sent out two by two so that they could gain strength and encouragement from each other.  I believe that Jesus knew how important relationships are to the success of His ministry.

When Soaring Wings Ministries was just an idea that God had given us, one of the first things that Ed and I said to each other was "We can't do this alone!".  We knew that we would need people to come along beside us to support us, help us and encourage us.  We knew we needed other people.  We knew how important relationships would be to the success of Soaring Wings Ministries.  We were thrilled when our daughter Meredith approached us about coming out to Colorado to help with Soaring Wings Ministries.  We had not asked Meredith to come with us and so we were amazed at God's provision and blessing of support, help and encouragement through Meredith.  We also knew that Meredith and her family would not be the only people to become involved in our lives through Soaring Wings Ministries,  We knew there would be other people...we just had no idea who they would be.  

When Ed and I first arrived in Colorado from New Hampshire back in September of 2013 we knew no one.  Those were hard lonely days and we quickly realized how much we needed other people.   Now a year and a half later, I think back on those days and realize how much God has blessed us with wonderful, precious, life giving relationships.I can't even begin to tell you the number of people we have met who have encouraged us, chosen to walk with us, prayed with us, laughed with us and blessed is in ways we could not even have imagined during those lonely days back in September of 2013.  I also cannot begin to tell you about all the  different ways that God has brought people into our lives.  I can tell you that it is truly amazing and we feel truly blessed beyond words to see how God has worked to bring these people into our lives.  


Here at Soaring Wings Ministries it truly is "All About The Relationships".  Without these precious relationships we would be floundering and discouraged.  Instead we are flourishing and so very encouraged!!!  We look forward to the new people that God will continue to bring into our lives and we especially look forward to the relationships that we will form with the people who will be living here at Soaring Wings Ministries.  From the bottom of our hearts we give our praises to God for His blessings of relationships and we thank each and every one of you who have been part of our lives here and back east.  You are precious to us beyond words!  May God bless you and keep you all in His loving care.
