Dear Friends and Family,
Merry Christmas and joy to the world for the Lord has come! This Christmas of 2020 we are so very thankful that the Lord indeed has come because without that reality in our lives we would not have been able to wish you a Merry Christmas with joy in our hearts. This year life threw some very difficult changes our way, as we know that it did for many of you as well. Many of you know that Ed Rennells, founder and executive director of Soaring Wings Ministries, passed away on July 16th. Honestly, when we said good-bye to him we were not thinking of his role at Soaring Wings Ministries but rather how much we would miss him as husband, father, son, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Not only did we have to say good-bye to Ed, but with Ed’s passing we had to say good-bye to our lives in Colorado as it was impossible for us to maintain the house and 40 acres on Trinity Lane without Ed. Meredith and her family made plans to move to New Hampshire and Anita packed her things for Florida. Saying good-bye to Colorado, Trinity Lane, our dear friends and each other after saying good-bye to Ed was one of the hardest things we have ever done. All of these major life changes would have completely overwhelmed us had we not remained joyful even in the midst of sorrow. It was this joy that enabled us to carry on during hard times. So where does this joy come from? It comes from having a personal relationship with Jesus. Immanuel, God with us, certainly was true for us during the months of 2020. Soaring Wings Ministries celebrated two major joy filled events this year. We were thrilled to see the addition completed and receive the certificate of occupancy in January 2020. What a huge blessing God bestowed on Soaring Wings Ministries not only with the completion of the addition but that Ed was able to know that the addition was completed before his death in July. Before Ed passed we were also able to have a homeless mother and her little 5 year old girl live in the addition during the summer months. How amazing is God that in the middle of a pandemic and very difficult life situations that his work continues?!! We were so blessed to have this mother and daughter call Soaring Wings Ministries their home. They brought us joy during some very hard months. Joy in having a homeless mother and little girl living with us? Absolutely!!!! When you are right where God wants you to be and doing exactly what he wants you to do, joy abounds, even when life is hard because Immanuel, God is with us. The work that Soaring Wings Ministries started will continue even with Ed’s passing. We are in the process of setting up a trust fund that will enable Soaring Wings Ministries to continue serving the homeless. You can donate to this trust fund through our website at www.soaringwingsministries.org or you can mail a donation to Soaring Wings Ministries P.O. Box 3664 Concord, NH 03302. We thank you so much for your faithful prayers and support. Matthew 1:23 “The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel which means, “God with us.” Indeed we can personally testify that God is with us and because of this we can say Merry Christmas and joy to the world with complete sincerity! Wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas and a New Year filled with joy!!! Anita Rennells and Meredith Peters Soaring Wings Ministries |
