This is my mom's blog but her goal was to blog about once a week and since she is away I am going to guest blog today.
I am Meredith Peters, Ed and Anita's daughter, I sit on the board for the Soaring Wings Ministries and I have had the joy of watching God's plan continue to develop as God leads them. My dad first talked about this vision to help the homeless and what he had felt God leading him to do when he retired but mom was not talking about it. After continual prayer and more guidance from God both my parents were on the same plan to give up what they thought they would do when they both retired and instead follow God into the next stage of their lives. It is an amazing blessing to watch as my parents faithfully step out into an adventure that God has called them to. To think that two people, both social workers, who have worked hard will not be just sitting in the sun in Florida for their retirement but they will be helping more and living where there could be even more snow must be a calling from God. I don't know many people who would give up so much to follow God but my parents are aware that this is what will bring a true blessing to them and that no retirement could be a better adventure than the adventure of following Jesus! The need is real and to listen to them talk about Soaring Wings Ranch brings them much joy. God has some great plans in the ranch and through my parents and it is a true act of faithfulness for my parents to be excited to serve God by helping the homeless in Colorado. Please pray for Ed and Anita as they prepare through upcoming fundraisers and support drives and please pray for God to continue to lead and direct them. Please also pray for the people in Colorado that my parents will be working with that they may have soft hearts and continue to seek Hope through the giver of continual Hope, Jesus! In Christ's Love, Meredith Peters

This is my first blog posting EVER! How exciting! But I cannot take credit for this because without my daughter's help you would not be reading this since my computer skills are very limited. As I think about it there are things that I enjoy doing that Meredith doesn't, like cooking a big meal. How exciting that we all have different skills, interests and talents! Soaring Wings Ministries will be located in Northern Colorado and it will exist to help homeless young adults. It will take the talents, skills and interests of many people to make it happen. God has it all planned out and knows exactly who will be doing what. I can't wait to see our hope for Soaring Wings Ministries turn into action. Homelessness w turn into hopefullness when we all turn our gifts and talents over to God to be used by Him for His glory. I hope that you will be faithful in reading these blog postings as we begin the journey in developing Soaring Wings Ministries and hope that you will also use your time and talents to serve others in need. Come along beside us and join us in this journey. Alone we can do little but together we can do much with God's blessing.
A joyful servant, Anita Working on our slogan today! Stay posted for a blog by Anita soon! :)
