From Savannah to Wellington!!! Happy Birthday Payton!!!

Today is September 5, 2015. It is a very special day because today our Granddaughter, Payton, turns 2 years old!!! What a gift she is to all of us!  There are some days here at Soaring Wings Ministries that are just overwhelming.  I hate to admit this but when I get overwhelmed, I get cranky.  It never fails that when I am in one of my cranky moods, Payton will do something so hysterically funny or so tenderly sweet that my cranky mood is instantly replaced with a smile or a laugh.  I am so thankful that she is here with us in Colorado, thankful to God for creating her and for bringing her into our lives and thankful for the joy that she gives out to us everyday.

I remember so well celebrating Payton's birthday last year.  We were in Savannah, Georgia.  We had just left New Hampshire and were making the move out here to Colorado by way of Florida.  Payton and her Mom and Dad were traveling with us to help us make the move out to Colorado. I know that geographically traveling to Colorado from New Hampshire via Florida doesn't make a bit of sense but we were first going to Florida to visit family before heading out west.

It was a miserable, stifling hot and humid day in Savannah on September 5th last year.  I remember it distinctly because we had planned to walk around and visit the beautiful and historical city of Savannah but with the oppressive heat and humidity we had to change our plans.  We drove around the city in our air conditioned vehicle and Meredith hopped out of the car to buy some cupcakes from a cute little shop downtown.  The heat and humidity was so horrific that no one else wanted to leave the air conditioned vehicle so we drove around the block while Meredith bought the cupcakes.  We celebrated Payton's birthday at a delicious, and air conditioned, seafood restaurant near the ocean just outside of Savannah and opened gifts and ate cupcakes later that day back at our campsite.

Here we are a year later celebrating Payton's birthday in Wellington, Colorado.  It is a very unusual day because the sky is completely overcast and it is raining.  It reminds me of weather on Cape Cod where Payton was born!  We never have weather like this!!!! We will celebrate Payton's birthday this year with homemade pancakes for breakfast.  We won't be having seafood because there is only frozen seafood available here in Colorado and Payton would much rather have ravioli for her birthday meal than seafood!!!  Instead of cupcakes, Payton will have a homemade "Olaf" cake for her birthday dessert tonight.  Instead of celebrating her birthday on the road on the east coast we will celebrate it here at home in a small, cozy house on the plains.

We have come so far from celebrating her birthday in Savannah, Georgia while on our way to Colorado.    We began our journey out west on faith and hope that God would guide us along the way to a new home in Colorado and, as always, God has proven Himself to be faithful to those who walk with Him and trust in Him.  Payton has now moved out here to Colorado from Cape Cod with her Mom and Dad.  We are so happy that they are here making Colorado their home and so grateful for the joy and encouragement that they have brought to us.

Once again, just like last year,  our plans to celebrate Payton's birthday will have to change due to the weather, but just like last year, we will celebrate with joy in our hearts for the blessing of family,  gratefulness to God for sending Payton to us and praises to God for His blessing and faithfulness during this past year.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAYTON!!!!!  WE LOVE YOU!!!

Thank you for your informative article, I have been doing research on this subject, and for three days I keep entering sites that are supposed to have what I am searching for, only to be discouraged with the lack of what I needed. Thank you again.

Articles that have significant and savvy remarks are more agreeable, at any rate to me. It’s fascinating to peruse what other individuals thought and how it identifies with them or their customers, as their point of view could help you later on.
Thanks for sharing with us..
